South Australia Aquatic & Leisure Centre

Project Overview

South Australia’s new international standard Aquatic Centre at Marion has been officially opened. It boasts a 50-metre competition swimming pool and a 55-metre diving and water polo pool alongside 1000 square metres of leisure and recreational water.

This facility exceeds the international competition standards of the world aquatics governing body FINA or Fédération internationale de natation which is the international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee and oversees international watersport competitions.

As a nation, Australians love to swim and this huge facility will cater for thousands to do so in a setting that’s as good for serious swimmers as it is for toddlers on the inflatables and teens on the water slides. There’s a splash park for the under 10s and the more serious external slides that twist round and round for over 10s with a space bowl and high-speed sections.

There’s also enough room for hundreds of spectators to watch water polo or diving in the purpose-built competition pool along with saunas, steam rooms, a creche, cafe and conference facilities. All this requires behind the scenes infrastructure and Automatic Heating was proud to provide some the equipment for these services in the form of Arizona Boilers and Enterprise Natural Gas, Dual Fuel or Light Oil Power Burners.

SA Aquatic Centre will provide the facilities to nurture future swimming and diving stars as well as a place for the community to learn to swim and enjoy a fabulous aquatic centre.
