A unique feature of this expansive Melbourne Markets facility at Epping in Victoria is the closed loop chilled water system which operates at -8 degrees C and services the coolrooms and freezer areas so critical to food and produce storage.
To maintain the system at a constant pressure and prevent the water from freezing, Automatic Heating supplied an expansion system which includes Duroflex EcoPress tanks, a glycol filling station and a leak detection system.
Automatic heating also supplied two Eurogen 800kW Condensing Hot Water Heaters fitted with Enterprise Power Burners to provide the required heating for the offices and admin areas of the facility.
EcoTwin Dirt Air Separators, an EcoFill Refill unit and a Duraflex Forte Expansion Tank complete the heating system for this project and ensure long term performance and maintenance benefits.
After an extensive development period this 70 hectare, $600 million facility is scheduled to open on 31 August 2015.
EcoPress Expansion Tanks maintain the pressure of a closed water loop within a 50 kPA pressure variation which reduce stress on system pipework and equipment.
It’s compact size saves plantroom space, reduces the number of standard expansion tanks required and provides a single pipe connection.
BMS outputs facilitate off-site monitoring or adjusting and real-time alarms.
EcoPress Expansion Tanks are pressure-less and do not require registration or certification.
